Does the Uptown neighborhood in Chicago have alot of crime compared to the rest of Chicago?

I've never had any problems with crime in Uptown, and I don't think you'll have big problems. It isn't a gang area, though there are some good bars and music venues, so you could have some issues with muggers or just drunkards who might hassle you.

In recent years, crime in Uptown has been on the rise. Although parts of the neighborhood are okay, Uptown isn't the safest part of the city.
