Living in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago - whats it like?

For the most part, Uptown is a fun and diverse area. Certain areas of Uptown are know for less than savory activities, but these areas are small and pretty easy to avoid. Uptown is home to some of the city's best music venues and tons of exciting eateries, so it's one of my favorites.
