"Walking distance to the US Capital"

Half ST is beautiful. The wharf is just a few block from half ST, making it a great place to live or visit not only to take in the sites of Virginia across the water but to purchase fresh seafood as well. The wife and I like to purchase fresh lobster and shrimp from there. I have never been disappointed with the price or quality. One of the best attributes to Half ST is you can walk to the US Capital. This is great place to live for people who recieve large amounts of out of state visitors. I'm quite sure your company would love to be a 2 or 3 minute bus ride from all of the Smithsonian museums. Heck they could walk there in under ten. I love to cycle through this area weekly.

"In the middle of everything"

Delaware avenue is a great place to live now and is becoming better by the day. There are still a few low income housing project on this street but they are nowhere near as bad as they once were. New town homes and condos have been built and are immaculate. The mall is a block away and being rebuilt right now. There are several buses that run through there, meaning you always have a way to move about. Waterfront Metro station is right in the middle of the parking lot of the mall giving even more access to transportation. The brand new Nationals stadium is also a block or two away from Delaware avenue. Fun for the whole family. Give this neighborhood a few years and it will be one of the best neighborhoods to live in.

"Move in now"

49th ST NE has changed for the better. At one point in time this was a drug strip. Now it is fairly peaceful again. 49th ST is basically inhabited by older people most of them home owners. There are new homes being built on all of the side streets that are coming along nicely. 49th ST is walking distance from deanwood Metro station making it an easy commute for anyone. The value of the new homes are very reasonable for what's being offered. There aren't many retail store in the area but the few that are there are fairly inexpensive. I would recommend anyone to move there.

"Gentrify this area next"

Mt Olivet Rd. is old and run down. There are all types of pest on this street. The neighborhoods on this street decrepit and so are the schools. I would not recommend sending your children to any of the schools in this neighborhood unless you want them to turn into lackadaisical people. This street for the most part has more beer stops than necassary. The carry outs were on the news for selling people old food a few years back. The parking lots of most of the stores are filled with bums and junkies. There are large numbers of working class people on this street but that's not what you see when you travel through here. I would only recommend living here to someone familiar with the neighborhood.

"Beat the rush hour traffic"

This is a route that not many are aware of. The ambulance, EMS,and Police Department would love to know this route. If you are traveling from north to south or vise versa between H st and M ST this is the street to take. Tenth ST is very narrow but there are no lights on this street. he cross street have very little traffic as well. If you are in a rush this is the street to take. Tenth ST is predominately residential. There is only one block that has retail places. Parking on this street is a no no. Remember it is still considered capital Hill.

"HOme Sweet Home"

17th street is a beautiful place to live. This part of DC is majorly on capital hill. The neighborhood is very quiet. The schools in this area are very nice well maintained and worth attending. This community is drug free and free from violence. Traffic is use heavy during rush hour on this street because it leads you to Pennsylvania Ave. and I 95. Certain areas on this street need to be repaved so if you are going to drive be aware of the multiple pot holes. Also some of the lights on this street are very slow at changing.

"Ghetto as can be"

Atlantic ST SE has one of the oldest remaining housing project located on it. This neighborhood is know for large amounts of criminal activity. Drugs,Theft and murders are a everyday part of this community. In the early part of the year DCPD got away with killing a fourteen year old boy for riding a dirt bike that they thought he stole from one of them. In turn the bike was no theirs and their lie was that the teen allegedly shot at them whil riding. This was not true either. I would not reccommend anyone to visit this area unless someone you know is expecting you.

"New Homes and Condos"

Fourth ST SE has been through a dramatic face lift. The neighborhood just went through gentrification. What was once run-down low income housing projects are now state of the art town homes and condominiums. The neighborhood is a staight shot to the new Nationals Stadium and the interstate. Fourth ST SE starts on capital hill and ends at M ST. Just at the Navy Yard wall. It's a beautiful place to take a walk with the spouse or pet. 100% crime free. For now.

"In the middle of nowhere"

12th ST is majorly taken up by capital hill. There are a substantial amount of important people living in the entire area. This inturn makes the neighborhood have more of a country feel. In the ealy mornings and nights there is no traffic. During the day there is little traffic. The only retail store on the street is CVS and it's right as youu near pennsylvania avenue. The community is all upper class until you reach the bottom nearing the Navy Yard.

"Great street for seeing the residential night life."

Eighth ST SE is a great place to grab a cup of coffee, have brunch, or have a few drinks with friends. There are some pros and cons to the area. Some of the Pros are; there are plenty of great restaurants and pubs in this area. The cons are; There is limited parking are enforcement is strong. If one was to take the subway to this area this would eliminate this problem. Eastern market is the stop you would get off at and the flee market is right across the street. Eastern market is a great place to pick up food organic food and handmade artifacts.
