Azalea Garden Rd
"Let the Name Fool You!"
One of the best things to visit in Norfolk is the Botanical Gardens on Azalea Garden Rd. They are worth a trip to this street, there is always something going on, whether its leaves changing, Christmas lights, flowers blooming or tours. It also might be one of the prettiest places on the planet to get married.

North Military Hwy
"Traffic, Airport, and Traffic"
N Military Hwy runs through most of Norfolk, skating right past the airport with access to the street from 64 and 264. Its also near Little Creek Rd, so whenever the base lets out, this road is a nightmare. It does provide access to a few parks and a nice golf course, but time out when you're driving on this road!
Saint Pauls Blvd
"Lots of Traffic, But Some Neat Places"
St. Paul's Blvd is a big road in Norfolk, lots of stuff, lots of traffic. It contains a few apartment complexes, Scope, and Chrysler Hall, among other things. It also has some neat old churches. Scope is a great place to catch an Admiral's hockey game and great shows come there as well as to Chrysler Hall.
East Princess Anne Rd
"PA is a Different Place"
Princess Anne Road runs through all of VA Beach and Norfolk and is thus, a strange mix of industrial, commercial and residential areas. Mostly, its got a lot of traffic in areas and is a little sketchy in places. It is a good thoroughfare, because it connects to Monticello Ave, Tidewater Drive, and VA Beach Blvd, all big streets in Norfolk.
Monticello Ave
"Great Shopping Area"
The most interesting thing on Monticello is the mall. MacArthur Mall is one of the nicest malls in the entire area, there is something there for everyone. Resturaunts range from very nice (and tasty!) Max & Erma's to the ever-popular Burger King. Its also one of the easiest streets to park on when visiting Norfolk.

Granby St
"Great Night Out"
Granby is a great place to go to dine out or enjoy a game at a pub or a show at the ever-popular Norva theater. If you're going to a show at the Norva, eat at the Backstage Cafe, you'll get into the show 15 minutes before everyone, and since the Norva is standing-room only, that is a terrific advantage. Also try the Blue Hippo and 219 restaurant.

Gates Ave
"Quiet, Up-and-Coming Area"
My friend just moved here and its really pretty, lots of trees, decent parking and she feels very safe there. It was quiet and peaceful and seemed to be filled with younger people, newlyweds and older students attending ODU. A Nice place.

East Main St
"Location, Location, Location"
If you're looking for somewhere central to stay in Norfolk, look no further than Main. It's located just a few blocks away from Tidewater Drive and Waterside, right in the thick of the city itself. Also, this is the street you will find a great little bagel shop called Chesapeake Bagel Bakery. Its a local chain and it is great.

West Freemason St
"Where Age is a Good Thing"
Freemason is one of the older streets in Norfolk, its got a few really neat old buildings and if you want a fun and different dining experience, try Freemason Abbey. The food is great and it is truly a unique atmosphere. A must-visit if you are dropping by Norfolk, especially if you want to take a business lunch someone very nice.

"Fun, Day and Night"
Waterside is a big street in Norfolk, whether you're a family of four or a young single looking for great nightlife. Waterside boasts shops, a ferry, excellent waterfront activities and fun areas for the whole family to enjoy. When the sun sets, head to one of the bars, like Bar Norfolk for some great times or head to Outback and enjoy a great meal.
