Granby St
"Granby Represents Norfolk"
Granby Street really gives anyone visiting Norfolk a little bit of everything. When you are downtown during the week, you totally get the hustle and bustle of everyone going to work. At night there are as many bars and restaurants as you could hope for- whatever your taste is. The Granby Theater is also downtown. This amazing building was built in the early 1900's and has recently been restored. There are different theme nights for this New York style dance club such as alternative and Euro. Sunday mornings you can check out the theater and a Wave Church service at 11 am. If you like to spend a quiet time to stroll and check out the architecture, then the weekend mornings allow you to walk around, take in the sights, and sip your cup of joe. Further up Granby Street is the Virginia Zoo. It is a wonderful family outing and great animal habitats.

Granby St
"Very pedestrian friendly."
Granby St is a very pedestrian friendly street and is lined with great restaurants and things to do. It’s a nice getaway from the rest of the town, but does get a little busy from work traffic since it’s located right off the base. It also could use a new pave job. But other than that it’s a great street!

Granby St
"Great Night Out"
Granby is a great place to go to dine out or enjoy a game at a pub or a show at the ever-popular Norva theater. If you're going to a show at the Norva, eat at the Backstage Cafe, you'll get into the show 15 minutes before everyone, and since the Norva is standing-room only, that is a terrific advantage. Also try the Blue Hippo and 219 restaurant.

Granby St
"Granby...the North-South thoroughfare"
Granby St. is Norfolk's main north-south corridor. In midtown, famous, upscale restaurants and nicely lit streets dominate it's scene--a breath of fresh air in the middle of a city that's rough around the edges. Granby Street is only pedestrian friendly in midtown. Go a little further downtown and the lanes narrow as Granby parts from route 460. Downtown it's just a block from Norfolk scope and gives great views of the city skyline.

"Great street with plenty to do"
As you go down Granby Street you can get the best of both worlds. You can get the great places to eat but you can also get some outdoors activities going on such as the Norfolk Zoo and there is a great big park located in the best spot for picnics and football games.

"Granby Street gives a nice feeling of old time Norfolk"
This is really a cute, fun area. Granby gives you the feeling of the old town, with shops like Urban Castaways consignment store. There are definitely some buys to be found, and at night, some awesome little bars. We liked Empire Little Bar Bistro for drinks. If you like more chi-chi places, we hear that 456 Fish is good, but we like more casual places and liked Hell’s Kitchen. Good food and relaxed atmosphere.
