"The Traditional Experience"
Grant Park and the Atlanta Zoo are excellent places to visit if you're looking for a relaxing day of leisure activities. The zoo is constantly updating their offerings with new and expanding exhibits so you can find something for all ages. The neighborhood feels safe and friendly, and lets you escape the clutter of the city. The zoo is well integrated to feel like you're really sharing the animals' environment, and the overall finish was much cleaner than many other comparable establishments.

"The South Street of Atlanta"
I'm a Philadelphia native, born and raised, and South Street is one of our most famous attractions for cultural history and the urban experience. Underground Atlanta provides the same unique allure, with everything from shopping boutiques to authentic local restaurants. I passed on the offered tours in favor of walking around this historic district on my own initiative. I can't comment much on the nightlife since I went during the day, but some unusual-looking bars caught my eye and may draw me back some other time to get a closer look.

"Classy Dining"
Whenever I travel, I try to hit the best steakhouses in the area to sample the local cuisine. Bone's Restaurant on Piedmont did not necessary serve the best steaks, but I felt compelled to review due to the overall feel of the establishment. The service staff made me feel welcome, even at home, from the moment I walked in the door. The decor of the dining area contributed to a fun, relaxing dining experience in authentic Atlanta style. Don't hesitate to ask the staff for menu recommendations, they love to share their expertise.

Briarcliff Cir
"The Tin Roof Cantina"
Fun little place to stop by for a pick-me-up in nice weather. A group of friends and I heard about it from some locals and went to take in a live show...surprisingly crowded for a monday night. The patio was a pleasant place to sit and talk, and the drink specials were great all night. Your tab will be well below what you pay at most Atlanta-area watering holes. My only complaint would be the questionable food quality, but in the end it is a bar, not a restaurant.

"Rathbun's Restaurant"
While the area doesn't offer too much in the way of tourist destinations, Kevin Rathbun's Steakhouse is simply too good to miss. It's a bit on the expensive side, but well worth it. My group split a few appetizers and entrees to get a taste for everything, and I have to say the bone-in ribeye may be the best I've ever had. It's a classy joint, so dress respectfully, and make sure you navigate the wine list carefully so you don't break the bank. Enjoy!

Capitol Ave Southeast
"Classic"
As a lifelong baseball fan, the area surrounding Turner Field has everything I need. I didn't have the chance to take in a game, but the Braves Museum and Hall of Fame offers up a diverse selection of local sports memorabilia and exhibitions. I enjoyed just walking around and taking everything in, getting lost in the classic vibe of baseball history.

"Local Experience, Tourist Destination"
The Varsity Drive-In was a highlight of my Atlanta vacation. I read about it in travel blogs, and as a huge fan of Sonic restaurants I knew I had to try it. I would compare the food to a mix between Checkers fast food and Chilis dinner entrees. Service was very fast and convenient and the employees were charming. Definitely give it a try on your way in or out of the city.

"Breathtaking Aquarium"
I am fascinated by aquatic life. Whenever I travel, I make a point to stop by the local aquarium to see what they have to offer. In my east coast travels to date, the aquariums in Camden, New Jersey (despite the neighborhood, really!!) and Baltimore, Maryland have impressed me the most. They are nothing, however, compared to the scope of the Georgia Aquarium on Baker Street. The vast tanks contain a diverse population of sharks, fish, and other aquatic wonders. Definitely recommended for any fellow tourist.

"Must-Visit Family Destination"
The Centennial Olympic Park is a perfect vacation destination for families with children of all ages. The site offers live shows and entertainment no matter what the season. Live music shows in the summer, ice skating in the winter, and special interactive family activities on weekends make the Olympic Park a must-see for anyone touring the Atlanta area.

"Off The Beaten Path"
West Peachtree Street is a great destination to avoid a bit of the hustle and bustle of the main city center. With plenty of restaurants and lodging available, it is a perfect home base for your individual or family vacations. One of the highlights of this area is the historical "Fabulous" Fox Theatre, located at the intersection of Ponce de Leon Ave. I am a bit of a cinema buff, but the theatre hosts a variety of events suitable for all ages.
