"The heart of Sunnyvale"

Towncenter Lane is exactly the kind of street as it's name. It is home of the Sunnyvale Town Center. On the weekend the adjacent parking lot is filled with huge lot sales. There are a couple of interesting ones like the Afghan area which sells some interesting things. There are plenty of outlets and small stores in the town center area. Parking is plentiful. The size of the street is relatively small though and it can get quite cramped during peak volumes like the weekend. This is a great place to bring out the family and enjoy the heart of Sunnyvale during the weekends and maybe even find a couple of cool items or two.

"Quiet but boring street."

Old San Francisco Road has given away to humble apartment buildings and random companies with empty parking lots. A lot of the apartment buildings are home to graduate students and young professionals. The area certainly does not attract people because of it's hopping nightlife but probably more for it's convenient location and cheap living. It is also relatively a quiet street even during the weekdays when the companies are all open. One great thing about this area is if you decide to have a party or people over there are plenty of open parking spots during the weekend. There are no stores on this street so you would need to hop on Wolfe road for anything like that.

"Living in suburban paradise"

Iris Avenue is a beautiful street. The street has two parks which are both equally entertaining although Ponderosa park is the large of the two and the more familiar one as well. Braly park is more familiar to the residents of this street. There are plenty of large trees which provide for shade during hot days and making walking the sidewalks comfortable and pleasant. This street is situated back from the bustle of most main roads and lies in a cluster of other suburban streets. Iris Avenue is very fond of partaking in every holiday season with almost each and every house putting up decorations. They almost always outdo themselves during the Christmas season. Great place to live. Houses are on the pricey side, so it probably won't be the place where you get to buy your first starter home.

"The not so charming street"

I got an apartment on Sydney Drive with a friend a couple of years back. The apartment promised quiet living on a comfortable and safe street. Boy was that ever the biggest lie. Sydney Drive appears quite nice to the visible eye but it has plenty of problems. The street is very close to Freemont High School and during the lunch break the students found it funny to come over and hang out in the pool area at my apartment and trashing the area in the process. There was always stories about cars being broken into and petty vandalism cases around the area. The cops also frequented this area quite a bit because of the amount of students in the area. Parking is almost impossible on this street unless you have your own house. Even side street parking is minimal. Avoid this street at all costs!

"The street with a little bit of everything"

East Fremont Avenue can be confusing to many people that live outside of Sunnyvale because it turns into West Fremont quite quickly and that makes it very confusing when you are trying to find a particular place. This road is a mixture of houses, apartments and businesses. I'm never a fan of living on a road that caters to everything because it is just a little too busy for my personal tastes, especially since I'm a family oriented type of person. There are nice patches on this street which can make it appeal nicer than it actually is. There are also some rough patches on this street which make it at times an undesirable location to live in. Traffic is always moderate to busy and there are so many lights which is a real pain in the neck!

"The best kept secret in Sunnyvale"

Every city and town has a few of the unknown streets to the non-locals and Savory Drive just happens to be one of Sunnyvale's best kept secrets. This is relatively a very short road which is connected in a sort of squared neighborhood by looping into other drives. The houses on Savory Drive are beautiful. They are large and spacious with well designed front yards. The road leads straight into the charming Las Palmas Park which has biking trails, playgrounds and even a lake which is good for fishing and swimming. Living by a park drives up the value of this street. A lot of the roads were recently repaved in this area including Savory Drive which makes for excellent driving.

"Residential and Industrial Street"

Tamarack Lane is an interesting street. It starts off as primarily residential then swerves in a loop towards industrial factories which I personally think take away the value of a street. The location to busy roads also make this street an easy quick route to get to other adjoining streets which can be dangerous to kids. The houses are all nice enough for the most part but many are falling in a state of neglect. Towards Lily Avenue, Tamarack Lane feels like a completely different street. If you are going to live on this street I would recommend trying to find a house along that area. This is mainly an area that caters to younger families that are just starting out and most likely own their first house.

"The All-American ideal family neighborhood"

The best thing about Quail Avenue is it's scenery. The road passes by a popular park which is great for outside activities and many charming cul-de-sacs styles houses. Life is relatively slow on this street compared to other areas of Sunnyvale. It is a nice place to kick back, relax and enjoy the quieter side of life. There are BBQ's that go on after the parents get out of work, children running through sprinklers and people walking their dogs. These are very familiar scenes which you might encounter if you take a drive through Quail Avenue. Great schools in this area too!

"Busiest road in Sunnyvale"

West El Camino Real is one of the most popular and well know roads in the Sunnyvale area. If you are looking for all of the familiar fast food joints and great shopping centers then you will need to stroll along West El Camino. This street is somewhat the focal point street of the city, stretching through bypassing freeways and local neighborhood streets. Traffic backups can be intense during rush hour. If you are trying to reach a particular destination it might be better to take one of the side roads to reach West El Camino. Overall the road is in decent condition with a few patches of wear and tear. There are also some good bars towards the Henderson area.

"Normal family road with lots of traffic noise."

Rincon Avenue is a nice little street. The houses are all two stories with separate garages for the most part. Being located off two busy roads allows for quick access to super markets and restaurants. Side traffic can also be a little busy during the weekdays on Rincon. This a family oriented road and their are plenty of kids out and about during the daytime hours to back that statement up. There are quite a few dogs on this road as well and there isn't a dog park for miles. You could always walk your dog through the other streets that run parallel to Rincon but I would be worried about the busy roads. Noise is something residents on this street have to get used to from the constant passing motorists.
