"Foodie destination, lofts, riverfront, new transit hub"

The North Loop got its name from the loop of railroad lines and streetcars that made this a Minneapolis commercial hub in the 1800s. It is now coming full circle with new Interchange Plaza scheduled to open in 2014 at the Target Field metro stop... part transit hub and part community center, it will be a great entry point into the trendy, developing North Loop. Often called the Warehouse District, this neighborhood is a foodie mecca (home of The Bachelor Farmer, where President Obama stopped for lunch) and a boutique shopping destination. The first Minneapolis loft conversions were in this neighborhood in the 1980s (The Itasca) and it now has a great mix of historic lofts and totally new buildings... with upscale townhomes along the riverfront.
Pros
  • Foodie destination
  • shopping
  • Target Field
  • Next to downtown
  • Hip
