Utica Ave
"Busy neighborhood but convenient"
Traveling up Utica Avenue can be no joke. Especially during rush hour. It seems like everyone is trying to get to work at the same time. The B46 bus does the honor everyday of taking passengers up and down Uitca Avenue. After having to take this bus everyday as a part of journey to school, I realize that driving on Utica Avenue could be a health hazard.
With the traffic including buses, dollar vans (now 2 dollars), cabs, and private cars, everyone finds their self in a competition when driving up this avenue.
Other than that Utica Avenue is one of the main streets in Brooklyn and runs through Flatbush and the Crown Heights areas. These nieghborhoods are heavily populated with people of Caribbean descent and also a Jewish community is present. The street is a busy, busy, busy area all year round with stores that one can buy almost anything, and get almost any service needed.
There is a Payless, Danice clothing store, Pretty Girl Clothing store, and also hair salons, nail salons, and beauty supply stores. Also it is a great place to buy Carribean food, and being that is close to my house, I can find almost any food I like. Jamaicans, Batians, and Trinidadians, all have island specific take out restaurants on Utica Avenue to serve the people living in this area.
Utica Avenue runs passed the 3 and 4 trains as it crosses with Eastern Parkway, and the A and C as it runs into Fulton Street.
Overall it can be seen as a quick place to buy things that one may need for their house, or personal needs, or just to have a taste of food back home where they're from.
