""Major street in Brooklyn""

Flatbush avenue is one of the most major streets in Brooklyn crossing with other major streets such as Eastern Parkway, Fulton Street, and Atlantic Avenue. The street runs through many areas, including Flatbush, Park Slope, and Downtown Brooklyn.

The avenue serves as a home to many small businesses that services the communities that are close by. In the Flatbush area of Brooklyn, there is now a new Target located there, as well as the one located near Flatbush avenue near Downtown Brooklyn.

Flatbush Avenue is also home to Long Island University and the world famous Junior's Restaurant. (Junior's has some of the best cheesecakes in the world). The B44 runs on this avenue.

So take one day and ride through Flatbush avenue to see what is has to offer. You won't be disappointed.

"Fun in the sun"

I loved visiting the beach in the summer time with my friends and enjoying the sun. Many people don't realize that Brooklyn has many beaches including Reese Beach, Coney Island, and Manhattan Beach.

Brighton Beach is one of my favorite, especially since the water on this part of the strip of beaches is cleaner than Coney Island's side. Technically Mahattan Beach, Brighton Beach, and Coney Island are on the same strip of land, but there are water filters that exist and Manhattan Beach happens to be the closest to that side of the beach. Brighton Beach is in between Manhattan Beach and Coney Island.

The beach is often crowded in the summer, but why wouldn't it be. This adds to the excitement of living in the city. And besides when you grow up in Brooklyn, you become used to this.

Otherwise, if you want to go to the beach it is very excessible by the B train. Just go ahead and have fun. Enjoy the sand, water, and all the people.

""Mall and soon a stadium""

The area near Atlantic Aenue and Flatbush Avenue is home to one of Brooklyn's few malls. In a city where stores are usually found along a strip instead of in housed in a mall, Atlantic Terminal is definitely is here to stay. The mall is has stores stores such as Old Navy, Marshalls, Payless, Daffy's, and Bath & Body Works, and Target. The mall is in a very convenient location, because the subway runs right under it. These include the 2,34,5,M,N,R trains.

Soon the new stadium will be built right in the area, which will be home to the Brooklyn Nets. This area on Atlantic Avenue will soon be a world attraction as it continues to become developed and give Brooklyn it's own identity.

"Hip, Fun , Fresh Neighborhood"

5th avenue in Brooklyn is a a long strip of small boutiques, shops, and other neighborhood services. The area which is in Park slope is home to many families and is a residential area for young adults just starting out on their own as well. Some of the stores in the strip include a Brooklyn Industries, Luscious Food, and many deli's and cafes.

On any Saturday, one will see people pushing babies in strollers and young toddlers just old enough to walk, to the park or to the nearest ice cream shop. The area has many restaurants, which many of the couples can also enjoy.

The area ,being residential also has all the services it needs including banks, nail salons, and supermarkets. With everything at a person's hands, they won't ever have to travel out the neighborhood on any occasion.

""A residential/business area""

My experience with Myrtle Avenue comes from traveling on the B54 bus that runs ont the avenue everyday to school during my high school years. I have knowledge of every block and street all the way from Myrtle Avenue and Broadway, and Myrtle & Flatbush avenue.

There are many corner stores, local eateries, and small cafes on Myrtle avenue. This area is home to more small businesses than anything else. By my old school which was located on Clinton Avenue between Myrtle avenue and Park Avenue, there were a few notable places to eat that me and my friends frequented a lot. This included Johns Diner, which served the best breakfast, lunch and dinner. ( It was always crowded in the morning). There was also Farmer's Deli which served the best sandwiches, and Castro's whcih served Spanish food. The Conneticut Muffin on the corner served as a great subsitute for Starbucks.

Overall the street is wonderful or and serves has stores and small businesses convenient for those that may live or work in the area.

"Brooklyn's pride and joy located in place"

Brooklyn is the next borough to become as famous as Manhattan, which is often the only borough represented in the advertisement for the most famous city in the world, while other boroughs are often left out.

Brooklyn's Eastern Parkway is home to four of Brooklyn's most famous attractions which are the Brooklyn Museum which was renovated only a few years ago, Brooklyn Botanical Garden, the Grand Army Plaza branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, and Prospect Park.

There Brooklyn Museum front design is phenomenal and there is no other design like it. The Grand Army Plaza Branch of the Brooklyn Public Library has just had a renovation recently and now there are concerts and performances held in the front of the library.

The area is lively, especially on Saturdays in the summer. It is a great area for families with kids, singles, couples and retirees all alike. Anyone can come to this area and find something to do at one of the attractions listed above. The best part about it is that all four of these attractions are located right next to each other, and are right near 2,3 trains.

As a native Brooklynite I take pride and joy in these attractions exclusive to Brooklyn.

""Perfect for anyone looking for excitement""

I personally loved when my father took me and my brother to Times Square a kid. There is so much excitement and energy. It is the place many out of towners think of when they think of New York City. And sorry to say I take it for granted as many other New Yorkers also do.

For example, there is the big mega screen that plays commercials and different television shows 24 hours a day, and there are giant advertisement everywhere. One can't help but to look up as they are walking down this street.

Some of the attractions on 42nd street is the Madame Toussants museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not museum, and the Juniors Restuarant, which is a the only other Junior's located in the city, other than the original in downtown Brooklyn. There is also the Virgin Megastore which will soon be closing.

One can go see a Broadway play and eat at the many restaurants around the area, or hear the screaming teens at the MTV networks headquarters for TRL.

This street is what makes New York the most famous city in the world.

""Hustle and Bustle of New York""

34th street in Mahattan is probably one of the most famous strips in the world. There is many activities available for the tourist or any New Yorker.

It includes the huge Herald Square Macys, which if you are going into for the first time you may need a map. Seriously, the place is crowded all the time and it has I don't know how many exits and entrances and sides to the building.

There is also the Manhattan Mall close by that just got a JC Penneys. Other stores on the famous 34th street include two H&Ms( one at 7th ave and one at 6th), Forever 21, Victoria's Secret, Dr. Jays, Daffy's, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Express, The Gap, American Eagle Outfitters, and Footlocker. There are many others that I did not mention.

It is also near the most famous arena in the world Madison Square Garden, and the 8th avenue train line shares it's station with Penn Station.

Expect the best when you come to 34th street It will be an experience like no other.

""An up and coming area""

Lewis Avenue in the Bedford Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, is and up-and -coming. There are new boutiques, shops, and restuarants developing in the area constantly.

This is a historical area which includes brownstones that have been around as early as 100 years ago. The area is experiencing a restoration of it's old features lost to the areas downfall a few years ago.

This is a residential area that is lively in the summer and runs through the majority of streets in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

There includes a cafe, an antique furniture store, and a bookstore called Brownstone Books all located at Lewis between Decatur and Macdonough street.

""Great for families""

I've lived on Maple Street for the past 4 years. It is in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn. It is a residential area with mostly 2 or 3 family brick houses. The area is very accesible to many different services in the community.

I live on Maple street near Utica Avenue, which has many stores and services such as Payless, Duane Reade, and Check Cashing just to name a few.

There is also a field across the street from my house which houses different events such as baseball games, soccer games, and sometimes festivals.

The street is about 8-10 ten blocks from Eastern Parkway, from the 3 or 4 train. The buses that run nearby is the B46, B12, and the B17.

The only close to negative thing I can say about this block is that I don't really know that many of my neighbors especially after living there for a couple of years.

"Less Crowded Shopping"

If you are looking for an area to shop in New York, thats not crowded...think again you won't find it.
But, there does exist 14th street, which is less crowded and busy than 34th street and has similar stores.

14th street has a variety of clothing stores, such as Forever 21, DSW Warehouse, Filene's Basement, and Strawberry's. There is also an Urban Outfitters and American Eagle Outfitters in the vicinity.

It is also home to one of the only mega record stores left in the city, Virgin Mega Store.

There is always something going on in Union Square, whether it be a festival or street fair, the area is fun to go take a walk on a Saturday and enjoy the people and the energy.

The trains that run close by are the 4,5,6,L,A,C,2,3,N,R trains.

"Great shopping area"

Broadway in the Soho area of Manhattan (which stands for South of Houston street) is known for as a shopping area stretching all the way to Canal Street & Broadway.

Here one can find stores such as Guess, Victoria's Secret, Express, and Old Navy , just to name a few. There are also boutiques where one can pick up cute clothes for a great buy. There's something for everyone in this area.

The people who hang around the area are also know for being very stylish. Broadway is also a known goto shopping area for people between the ages of 17-to mid 20s who are all about being different and finding the latest trends in urban fashion.

I like to call Soho the fashion capital of the world, because everyone that walks around there looks like they came straight of the runway.

Visit Broadway, in the Soho area by way of the 6 train or the N train. Enjoy shopping

"Busy neighborhood but convenient"

Traveling up Utica Avenue can be no joke. Especially during rush hour. It seems like everyone is trying to get to work at the same time. The B46 bus does the honor everyday of taking passengers up and down Uitca Avenue. After having to take this bus everyday as a part of journey to school, I realize that driving on Utica Avenue could be a health hazard.

With the traffic including buses, dollar vans (now 2 dollars), cabs, and private cars, everyone finds their self in a competition when driving up this avenue.

Other than that Utica Avenue is one of the main streets in Brooklyn and runs through Flatbush and the Crown Heights areas. These nieghborhoods are heavily populated with people of Caribbean descent and also a Jewish community is present. The street is a busy, busy, busy area all year round with stores that one can buy almost anything, and get almost any service needed.

There is a Payless, Danice clothing store, Pretty Girl Clothing store, and also hair salons, nail salons, and beauty supply stores. Also it is a great place to buy Carribean food, and being that is close to my house, I can find almost any food I like. Jamaicans, Batians, and Trinidadians, all have island specific take out restaurants on Utica Avenue to serve the people living in this area.

Utica Avenue runs passed the 3 and 4 trains as it crosses with Eastern Parkway, and the A and C as it runs into Fulton Street.

Overall it can be seen as a quick place to buy things that one may need for their house, or personal needs, or just to have a taste of food back home where they're from.

"Equal grounds for bookworms and big screen addicts"

Court Street in the downtown section of Brooklyn, has just recently become an entertainment attraction for many Brooklynites. With the introduction of a 14 screen movie theater and 2-floor Barnes and Noble Booksellers, there has been some sort of a night life brought to this street.

There has also been condominiums and retail space built across the street from the movie theater.
Adjacent to the theater there is an American Apparel clothing store.

One can also go for their normal fast food run, with McDonald's, Starbucks, and Popeyes all in the area. This is also a few pizza shops located on Court Street if your in the mood for a Brooklyn slice.

If you are planning to take a visit, the area is very accessible by subway. The 2,3,4,5,M,R trains all make stops there at Brooklyn Borough Hall. Not near those stops? You can also take the A,C, or F train to Jay St. and walk towards Court Street, which is literately only 2 blocks away.

Have fun reading or watching your favorite movie!

"The Sneaker Heaven"

Fulton Street, specifically Fulton Mall (btwn Flatbush Avenue and Adams Street) in the Downtown area of Brooklyn can be proclaimed an unofficial sneaker "heaven". There is more than 20 stores on this strip that sells sneakers.

When I was a young lad, lol, my mother used to take me and my brother school shopping for sneakers and clothes to start the year off looking "fresh"(dressing nice). Here I can stay on top of what the latest sneakers were, which were Jordans and Nikes. Now that I am a little older, I don't shop for sneakers as much in this area because of the lack of exclusiveness. Many of the stores will have the same sneakers, which will mean you will see at least 5 people walking down Fulton Street with your sneakers on.

As you walk, you will see FootLocker, Foot Action, Modell's, etc. and many "mom and pop shops" that sell sneakers. One can also buy clothing to go with their new "kicks". If you like urban fashion: flashy jeans, t-shirts, hoodies, and the like, stores such as Dr. Jay's, S&D's and Hyperactive will fit your tastes.

The area is a popular for parents who have children because of the type of clothing, and also with tweens and teenagers. But don't fret, if you don't want to dress looking like your teenage daughter, there is also a Macy's department store on Fulton Mall that has been there since I could remember.

Fulton Mall has gone through many changes over the past 10-15 years, and many of the stores do not last more than 3-5 years. The former Albee Square Mall, shut down this past year and is now being renovated into condominiums. There was also a Friday's restaurant, which didn't last either and closed down just last year.

Overall, if you are not in high school or have a child, do not expect to be excited about shopping in this area. Just as some things are for the adults, this one is for the kids.
