"Walnut Street is at the heart of Downtown Cincinnati"
The streets in Downtown Cincinnati run primarily in a grid pattern with streets running east to west or north to south or vice versa. Most of the streets Downtown are one way. Walnut Street is on of those north-south streets with traffic going in the south direction towards the river (although it doesn't run quite that far.) Walnut Street runs from E. McMicken through Over-The-Rhine and through the heart of Downtown. It passes by the main library, through the theater district and runs along the east side of Fountain Square. It passes between the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and the new entertainment and living complex that is part of The Banks development. As Walnut Street passes through the heart of the Downtown entertainment area, it sees a lot of traffic, especially around the Fountain Square area. Also, as one of the main streets, it is also conveniently located to most of the shopping and dining venues.

"Strictly commercial"
Walnut Street is Downtown and runs north to south. It begins in Over the Rhine with some residential area that have been mostly refurbished, and ends at the riverfront area near the Great American Ballpark.
Walnut is mostly commercial and along the way you'll pass the Huge Downtown Branch of the Hamilton County Public Library, the Aronoff Center for the Performing arts, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincy's (formerly Cadillac Ranch) and a few other restaurants. You'll pass the east side of Federal Courthouse (formerly the Downtown Post Office) and Fountain Square, although the 5th Third tower blocks the view.
If you need a bus, Walnut passes right by the Downtown Metro hub. You can catch a bus to go anywhere in the city.
Shopping at Macy's, Tiffany and a few other stores is just a block away.

Walnut St
"Walnut street ohio"
Walnut street Is a quiet street in Cincinnati Ohio. The street gives off a nice feel because there are lots of trees that make it really shady and peaceful. It is a very beautiful neighborhood. If you have a small family and are looking for a great place to live I would highly recommend this area. There is also a wonderful Mexican restaurant about five minutes away.
