"Peace & quiet at it's best"
Water Oak is in a quiet family neighborhood with wealthy to middle income people of all flavors. Little crime IN the neighborhood, police do patrol through, but probably because cut thru to new PD station on Wendover Rd close by. Comm Watch and many of us walk in the neighborhood and we keep an eye on what goes on. Many people home @ all hours. I feel very safe in this area, but NOT foolishly so. The Elem, Middle & HS all excellent for CMS.
Pros
- neighborly
- close shopping & medical
- quite
Cons
- seems to have a cut-thru between major roads
- school busses-many

Water Oak Rd
"Runs through the rough and the rich areas of Cotswold neighborhood"
McAlway Rd is a favorite short cut for drivers who want to get to Cotswold mall from Monroe Rd without all the traffic lights of Wendover Rd. The turn is off of Monroe Rd and goes first through some lower income housing. Not a dangerous part of the neighborhood, but run down. A few blocks more and you enter the ritzy part of Cotswold. Lots of expensive homes with families and professionals. Speed bumps were added a few years ago to stop all the drivers speeding, but it is still a great short cut to Cotswold mall. The mall has a nice Harris Teeter, Blockbuster, Rite Aid, Wolfman Pizza, Mama Fu's, and other nice restaurants and shopping.
