A girls' night out in White Plains could involve a night of bar hopping on the ever-popular Mamaroneck Avenue with its slew of neighboring bars and pubs. It is always hopping there on weekends and I can hear the music from my apartment well into the wee hours of the morn. If you want something a touch more mellow, you can head to the Melting Pot Restaurant, also on Mamaroneck Avenue, which offers cheese and chocolate fondues and is well suited for groups. Every Monday night they have a special Ladies Night Out. For a reasonable $29.95 per person, you get a cheese fondue, an entree and a chocolate fondue. After blissful indulgence at the Melting Pot, you can catch the latest romantic comedy at the multiplex (graced with cushy theater seats) across the street at the City Center. City Center has a great Nordstrom Rack, too, with slightly discounted fashion finds. Or you can take in a show at the White Plains Performing Arts Center located right next door to the multiplex. You definitely need not go further than the Mamaroneck Ave. strip for a great girls' night out!
