Very poor - this area is good for commerce but not for families or children. North a little further or other side of the Hudson if you have a family to raise

My children go to The Montessori Schools in Yonkers and Love, love it. The teachers are wonderful. Although Yonkers has had some financial cuts, the quality of education that my kids are receiving are great. They look forward to going everyday and actually like to doing homework, including their reading logs and that coming from my 12,10,and 8 year olds.

The schools, unfortunately, are not great. Like many school districts in the wake of the recession, the Yonkers schools were hit hard and have had to cut back on programs. Even prior to that, they were not that good.

The city schools are very wild I hear. From anyone I've spoken too they all recommended private schools which there just so happen to be A LOT of around.
