"Does the Trick"
To be honest, I may very well be the only person who ever reviews 3rd street in Occidental. It is a tiny, nondescript side street in an even tinier, more isolated town, but it does happen to be home to two great spots: the Bohemian Market, which serves great sandwiches, and the Union Hotel, which serves great beer for even more great prices. The piano in the bar is used almost as frequently as the juke box, both of which vary greatly in quality depending on who has control, but for $4 a pint, I would listen to recordings of screaming babies (or settle for no music, for that matter).
This street turns into Coleman Valley Road, which extends further west, but 3rd street has its own little charm that makes it unique. I wouldn't go out of your way to come here, but if you happen to be staying in Occidental, rest assured that you will have something to do.
