Whats it like living in the Brainerd neighborhood of Chicago?

Brainerd is a great place to live, especially if you're Irish. It's very family oriented, and it's quite safe. The neighborhood has a real community feeling, and they're very welcoming, though it's also a place that you can grow into being one of the crowd. I mean that in a good way. It's a great place to live and not terribly expensive.

Brainerd is a very residential community full of largely Irish-American residents. Every June this community has a wonderful neighborhood picnic in Brainerd park where all the families get together for food and fun activities. Brainerd Park is wonderful - there is basketball, tennis, walking paths and lots of summer activities for the kids. This is a very safe, family focused, blue collar neighborhood.
