"Some historical sights"

Broad Street is actually an extension of Nassau as it crosses Wall Street. Nassau was the big printing street back in the day and there was a little piece of that on Broad right at Wall. The first published monthly magazine was here. It was called American Magazine and was started in the late 18th century. The street changes its tune and goes back to its roots right after that, though. One side of the New York Stock Exchange is on Broad as is Morgan Bank. This block also held two incredibly famous seafood restaurants from the days of yore that are no longer: Downing's Oyster House and Delmonico's were both here and were incredibly popular with the important people and financial people set. A lot of restaurants since these have closed have tried to capitalize on their names -- and, that's crazy because they both closed in the 19th century.
Broad right around Exchange used to actually have a massive canal so that ships could come up directly to the warehouses. I can't imagine walking down the street and seeing a ship cruising right next to me, but it used to happen right here. There are pretty much only office buildings on this block. The first women's brokerage was at 44, and weirdly now, there's a prep school right in the middle of all of this banking / business meyley.
The next block around Marketfield, houses more businesses. There was a general store on the east corner that was robbed in 1741 that spurned a big witchhunt for African Americans. Thirty something people were burned at the stake or hanged because of a petty theft. Speaking of witch hunts, the Goldman Sachs building is on Broad just at Market if that interests anyone . . . I'm just saying . . .
Right at the corner of Broad and Pearl is the famous Fraunces Tavern. It was a tavern built in the mid-18th century that became a favorite of political figures. George Washington gave his farewell speech here and there were actually governmental department headquarters here during the Revolutionary War. i was so excited this place and the work that they did on it is great. But, the actual tavern is incredibly depressing. It's a place I really recommend going to, having one beer, and getting out. It's a shame because it could have been so cool. The museum part is interesting but even that's a little lackluster for what it could have been. The first recorded concert in New York was given just next door to the tavern in the earlier part of the 17th century so this used to be quite the trendy block.
There's nothing really to see past Water street other than the southernmost skyscraper in Manhattan; but, that building isn't all that impressive. There's nothing to do over here as far as bars and restaurants and the tourist factor is pretty insane. I wouldn't want to live here by any means, but a day trip to look at the buildings is highly recommended for this area, in general.

"Noisy, Famous, Fun"

Nowadays, the mood in the Financial District is definitely not as upbeat as it used to be, but the magic of the place is not lost on the visitors. It is one of the most famous streets in New York, and for good reason. It is in the heart of the Financial district and famously corners Wall Street. It has a very vibrant, buzzing atmosphere, and there are plenty of shops and businesses to catch your eye. The New York Stock Exchange is right where Broad st and Wall st meet and it is always full of travelers, many of whom work in the area. Now, although the atmosphere has changed, it is definitely a place to stop by.

"WELCOME TO WALL STREET, USA"

oh wow! I loved Broad Street. It is very fast paced and high dollar. The style has its own range of reflections in the profesional attire from black suits to matching brief cases. "Wall Street" ahould be changed to "Crowded Street". With many conversations from accounts to psychiatric help, this area is not reccommended for retirees or people with kids. This is whatI like to call a business area.

Intersecting probably the most popular business district in the whole world, Broad Street is almost just as popular as Wall Street.
