"Typical College Town"
College Avenue is aptly named for it's location to San Diego State University. Because it is a major artery through the college area it is busy the majority of the day. I expect because it is so busy and so densely populated, there are also more incidents that require police or medical attention. The stores and restaurants are usually open later but they are also staffed by college student just trying to make a buck. There are also tons of places to eat - fast food, sit down and in between and it is really nice to have all those options. It also has a section that runs through an older neighbrhood with cute houses that are nicely kept. One one end of College there is the 8 freeway - only minutes away from the 15. On the other end is the 94. So, good freeways access- it just might take you awhile to get there. Overall, good street but typical of a college town.

"Stay away from this street"
My girlfriend lived on this street and it was horrible. There is a hookah lounge right around the corner so lots of people park on the street leaving no spaces for you. People on the street are extremely noisy at all hours of the night and rude when asked to keep it down a little. A few benefits though: subway, quiznos, ralphs, blockbuster, little ceasars cold stones and a few other stores are located just a block away.
