"Good bet for a quiet apartment in Park Slope"
6th Ave is a surprisingly residential street between two rather commercial outposts (ie, 5th & 6th Aves) in Park Slope. It's also a surprisingly gorgeous street - the Park Slope area is lined with brownstones and trees and the residents have been known to keep little gardens in their little front lawns. Naturally the street has amenities typical of any New York neighborhood - the laundromat, the deli, the preschool. 6th Ave in Park Slope is one of the more quiet avenues in the area. 3rd Ave is too industrial and congested, 4th Ave doesn't have a whole lot going on except traffic, 5th Ave is packed with bars/shops/restaurants and general nightlife, making it incredibly noisy at night, and 7th Ave is somewhere in between the quiet residential attitude of 6th Ave and the busy nightlife on 5th. Anyway, my point is that if you want to live in this area to enjoy all that it has to offer but still live on a quiet street, this is one of your best bets!
Pros
- quiet residential life
- close to cool shops/bars on 5th and 7th Aves
- beautiful brownstones
Cons
- bar goers can be heard at night
- can be difficult to locate street parking spaces

"Great for All Ages!"
I remember going to school over here as a child. I loved this place. After school, I would go to Ozzie's and have a chocolate croissant. But I digress. My school had one of the best playgrounds, there are plenty of shops over here and it is a nice neighborhood to live in. Many bohemian people live here so its nice and calm. Families, Couples, Retirees, come to sixth avenue!

"A relatively nice neighborhood"
They say that Bay Ridge, Brooklyn is one of the few affordable safe family(ish) neighbourhood esepcially in the upper street numbers where you get close to the Verrazaon bridge. I guess it's true. I have lived once upon a time in Fort Hamilton Pkwy of Bay Ridge and I found it a relatively nice street, quiet at night, a good place to do your morning walk or for jogging, many senior citizens live in this street which makes the life quiter and safer. For me, the only drawback in this street, as in 90% of New York city, is the the fact that you see more red brick than green areas like, trees, gardens, parks or any sort of that.

"long commercial/residetial street"
fort hamilton parkway is a long street covering some 70-80 blocks stretching past several neighborhoods. it is full of mom and pop stores as well as major food chains, and residential buildings. it is a main access way that runs along the brooklyn queens expressway, which makes it easy for cross boro traveling. the street runs into the bay ridge section of brooklyn right under the verrazano bridge and into what is the fort hamilton military base. the only active military base in new york .

"On 6th Avenue"
This street is in a great neighborhood, but there is a quite a bit of traffic. I really like this area of Brooklyn near the East River and think that its a great place to look if you're thinking of moving to this bustling borough. With all that Manhattan has to offer, sometimes it's nice to take a look outside of the box. Some notable restaurants you'll find on this street include Bar BQ, a unique Barbecue restaraunt perfect for a fourth of July meal, Kitchen Bar, and Bar Toto restaraunt. You'll also find various churches, an animal clinic, and other small service oriented businesses. All in all, a great street in a great neighborhood.
