"149 street and 3 ave( good place to live)"
The area is nice. It is not quite in the morning. It is kind of busy but it is nice at night time. The area is clean and there are many food stores around there.spanish, Chinese and also there is a big hospital in the area as well. I would recommend this place

"Not a good place to live"
I have lived in 170 grand concourses for more than 8 years. It is a terrible place if you are looking for a quite place. Loud music. Drug abuse.criminal.anything you can imagine. However, the area is good if you like shopping. It has many retail store from infants clothes to adults.

"Not a perfect place to raise children because of the street traffic"
The grandconcourse is a 4 lane street that runs from 138th street to 210th street in the Bronx. In the last five years it has had beautiful makeover. The streets have been repaved, flowers have been planted. There are traffic camaras at all major intersections of this strip. There have been new high rise buildings constructed. Business are blooming again on the Grandconcourse. At one point it didn't feel safe to cross this street, but I now feel that it has been made safe again, for children as well as adults. It almost reminds me of areas that you would see if you were walking down the Las vegas strip.

Grand Concourse
"Good developed street."
Grand concourse is a developed street in Bronx. It is also famous there. It contains a well furnished highways in three-line way and its a 180 feet road. Its a well populated street because the housing construction came in that area. All those large buildings in that area shows that the business is also well developed in those even from the past. It's a multi ethnic area.

Grand Concourse
"Nothing Grand About it."
The Grand Concourse is one of the "grand" boulevards of New York, designed to run all through the Bronx and connect people to all different neighborhoods. While it was nice intentions what now lines the Concourse are large apartment buildings that appear run down. It is a huge traffic magnet and crossing it on foot is not advised. Close to Jerome Avenue the area is seedy, at best, and is probably not the place one would want to raise a family. While I don't find it grand it offers great convenience for city commuters who wish not to pay enormous rents in Manhattan. The trains and buses are plentiful and those looking for a ride out or in can always catch one, but that's about it's only real appeal.

"A little ghetto, but great people!"
The Grand Concourse is pretty dreary, but I love how it runs all through the Bronx and it helps me find where I need to go. Check out the Grand Concourse and Fordham Rd for the best pizza ever! Slices are only $1 and soda is only $.75 a can. You can get a filling meal for less than 2 bucks. I love the Bronx and it isn't as bad as everyone says it is.
