"Pompano Beach Fishing Pier"
Fishermans Wharf is what the fishing pier is called. It has been a favorite spot to me for years. There is a restuarant located on the pier called Fishermans Wharf as well. It has a variety of seafood and other types of American style food. I have eaten there many times and it has a wonderful atomsphere that you can enjoy with your family or as a couple. The pier itself was badly damaged during the series of hurricanes Florida was battered with, but it has been restored and reopened. The pier goes out over the ocean and is great for fishing for snappers or other fish. It is really nice to just stand out there and look at the water. I have seen dolphins sometimes at night and whenever you go, you'll find people fishing with sometimes two or three fishing poles. The beach the surrounds the pier is very pleasant as well.

"Great Diverse Street"
Of course, being the most eastern road in Pompano, means it is directly parallel to the beach which is one of the main attractions to South Florida. This also means it has to be well maintained since it has a heavy traffic flow of tourists and locals alike. A1A runs through a vast diversity of neighborhoods. Mostly good, quiet, family oriented neighborhoods. It also runs past many condominiums and hotels. Many of which have either been newly built or renovated. As well as the renovated ares of Pompano, it also passes by smaller original housed neighborhoods which are quickly being taken over by big companies to build hotels and high rises. These older neighborhoods also include many privately owned motels and Inn's that are also of original status. Though these neighborhoods are older and not as modern, they are still very safe and family friendly places.
