"Beautiful but Crowded"
Wow - I still cannot believe that this spot is located in such a bustling city. Old Mason Street (not to be confused with Mason Street) is located in the heart of the Presidio, right next to Crissy Field. On weekend days, you can find people barbecuing at one of the free pits, enjoying a picnic along the bay, lounging on one of the gentle beaches (weather permitting), throwing a frisbee around on one of the fields, or simply marveling at the stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito. Sounds perfect, right?
The down side? It is so perfect that everyone wants to go here on weekends, and traffic can be horrific. You will often find cars lining up and waiting for parking spots as other cars back up, and can spend up to 20-30 minutes just finding a place to leave your vehicle before you enjoy the area. Likewise, you will be sharing the splendor with the majority of the population in San Francisco, so be prepared for crowds.
If you are visiting from out of town, I would recommend going on a weekday. If you insist on enjoying this weekend spot like the rest of San Francisco, at least ride your bike or take public transportation. And enjoy!

Old Mason St
"access to beach"
Old Mason Street is just running by the bay area and with a very easy access to the beautiful sunshine beach. This must be a great place to take a rest. A few of beautiful houses are on the one side of the street. On this street you will have one of the most wonderful views of the city and the bay, beach and sea. I was impressive of the scenes there.
