"Better Location, Still 'Hood"
By default, most of the East Palo Alto street reviews that I am writing get at least three stars, not because they are nice, but because everything is relative. Sacramento Street wins points in several areas - it is in the southwest section of town (south of Bay, west of University), which is the safest quadrant of town. The street itself is located right off of University, and proximity to any main drag generally makes a side street less dangerous. There are also several lovely housing developments nearby in an increasing effort to gentrify this up-and-coming town.
However, the above-ground power lines, the metal wire fences, and the old, run-down cars serve as a reminder that this street still has a long way to go. It could be a great investment property, but don't expect Silicon Valley luxury when you move in. Do expect proximity to many shopping centers, nearby neighborhoods, and great Mexican food. Resale value here will be great in a few years.
