"Great if you are Associated with SF State"
If you are directly associated with San Francisco State University, this is a great place to live. The development is well-planned, aside from somewhat limited parking, with a great layout of modern condos. It is right next to the university, within walking distance of everything.
Everything SF State related, that is. If you are not a part of the university, you might as well be in Daly City, because this is not within close proximity of ANYTHING else that San Francisco has to offer. You need a car to get as far as the beach, and essentially need to drive anywhere and everywhere else, as the public transportation becomes far more sparse, and the massive hills make it very difficult to bike anywhere. This is not so much a city community as it is a microcommunity that happens to be located in a zip code that requires you to pay city taxes. It's a pretty, nice spot that serves a specific purpose. Make sure your needs are aligned with that purpose before moving here.

Serrano Dr
"not enough parking"
Serrano Drive is in the Parkmerced community, which is a somewhat homogenous, aging planned apartment community near the SFSU campus. One big problem with living in this area is the lack of parking. There are not nearly enough parking spaces for the large number of people who live in this community. You may end up parking far from your residence. This area is convenient for students but otherwise not much to offer.
