"Residencial feel in the city"
The area around S. 47th Street known as Garden Court is a mix of a few smaller apartment buildings and many single family homes or twins. The entire area was built in the 1930's and was one of the first neighborhoods designed to accomodate automobiles. As a result, since many of the houses have their own garages, street parking is easy to find. The area has a much more residential feel than areas farther east closer to the University of Pennsylvania and Center City. The area is relatively safe and also serviced by both bus and trolley lines. Also, within 20 minutes walking of the University of Pennsylvania. There is a community pool and a few good restaurants within blocks.
