"Shopping, art, music and more!"
Union Street runs about nine blocks from the waterfront to the Convention Center and packs in so much to do and see in downtown Seattle. In the heart of the shopping district, Union Street has many specialty shops lining its sidewalks with more major department stores and downtown malls close by. The Seattle Art Museum changes its displays often so you can always be sure to see something new and exciting. Benaroya Hall is home to the Seattle Symphony and provides many events, especially around the holidays. The Wild Ginger restaurant is a favorite of the locals and serves up some absolutely delicious cuisine. At the far inland end of Union Street is the Washington State Convention Center where many public events occur. When the downtown area of Seattle grew, Interstate 5 was not going to be a deterrent, and the convention center was built on top of the freeway. The best part about Union Street is that it is in the "free ride" area for public transportation, so any bus ride within the downtown area costs you nothing.

Union St
"Union street unites Seattle!!!"
Union street is an important street that links much of old Seattle together. This street is quite lengthy and runs past the S.A.M. The Seattle Art museum is surrounded by 2nd, Union, 1st, and University streets. At the center of the downtown area the Seattle Art museum is a mjor attraction with world class exhibits. WHen I was there they acutally had the Roman collection on loan from the Louvre in France! Union street runs from the waterfront to Rt. 5, the major highway in the area. While on Union, be sure to head over to Pike place, old Seattle's best kept secret.

"Visit the Art Museum"
This road is not super exciting, but for any art fan, the Seattle Art Museum is a must visit! This museum is great for people of all ages - the young and old. There are many different displays and themes through out the year with many reasons to keep going back.
