"This is a quaint street but perhaps a bit too close to the encroaching Medical Center"

This is a street of one and two story houses on Rice University's south side - but just to the East the Medical Center is growing ever closer. I knew someone who lived on Dryden who was upset by the construction in the Medical Center which woke them up at 7 in the morning. That said, this is a great street if you can afford it - close to Rice University campus and also within walking distance of the Med Center. The traffic in the area is not that bad outside of rush hours. Also very convenient to the Village shopping area just west of campus.

"Great diversity of housing and character on this street"

Dairy Ashford near I-10 is in the middle of Houston's energy corridor, home to many energy companies like Conoco Phillips and BP. Near Memorial Dr, Dairy Ashford intersects with Terry Hershey park which has wonderful hike and bike trails that run east - west all the way into town towards Beltway 8, and as far west as Fry road. The trails are very beautiful and border Buffalo Bayou, which is Houston's "original" bayou which the city was founded on. There are some beautiful neighborhoods in this area. Close to Westheimer the area becomes more commercial and lower income - with fewer trees.

"Expensive inner loop living, but has a small street feel"

This street is great - nearby on West Alabama and on Westheimer you will find things like Whole Foods, Borders, the restaurant Pesce, and other high-end retail. On Revere itself you have a Berryhill Tamale. There are also plenty of other dining options as you are really close to the Montrose area, Downtown, and the Rice Village. This area has seen the development of some new apartments / condos, and traffic might be more of an issue with the influx of new residents.

"This is a great street - very scenic, but pricey close to I-10"

Voss close to Westheimer has plenty of affordable living options - mainly apartments. When you get close to I-10, this area is beautiful but also some of the highest-priced and most exclusive housing in all of Houston - more expensive than even River Oaks. Also this area has a lot of trees, and is arguably as pretty as many parts of Austin. Second Baptist church is located near San Felipe. Retail concentrations are around San Felipe and Westheimer - including restaurants like Pei Wei.

"Lots of cosmopolitan living options on Sage"

Sage cuts through the heart of the Galleria area, with plenty of apartment, condo, and high-rise living options available. The corner of Sage and Westheimer is the Galleria area, which sits across the street from the JW Marriott which is arguably one of the nicest hotels in the area. One block east of Sage is Post Oak which hosts a wide variety of offices and retail. Sage would probably be a better choice than living on Post Oak if you desire to escape the Galleria-area traffic!

"This is what sprawl is all about"

Highway 6 has stoplights but for all other intents and purposes it is just as big and noisy as I-10 or Highway 59. There is plenty of shopping, retail, and fast food nearby - just off the road. A recently completed intersection with I-10 makes getting around I-10 much easier. Retail in the area includes West Oaks Mall, Home Depot, and plenty of office space. This road is in what is known as the Energy Corridor in Houston - where many energy companies have set up offices.

"Nice street closer to I-10"

Bingle / Voss is very nice close to I-10, the further north you go the more low-income or mixed it gets. Just North of I-10, some of this area belongs to Spring Valley and goes to Memorial high school, and the homes are pretty high priced. You are close to downtown Houston from here, and extremely close to the Galleria area.

"Some nice spots - some not so nice"

This could be a reasonable spot for some low-priced housing - on the positive side it is very diverse and closer to Memorial it is actually quite nice. As you head north and pass highway 290 the area is more low income, with plenty of shops and food options, including Soul Food, Cajun, and others. The street is not without its charm in some sections - with nice houses and Scarbarough High School, for instance - other areas I would probably not choose to live in but may be great for others.

"Good street for singles, couples, retirees, students"

Augusta has some retail towards Westheimer - including good restaurants like Houston's and Becks prime. There are some pretty large apartment complexes on the street, which is tree lined and has decent sidewalks. The YMCA is located just up the street, and you are convenient to the Galleria-area in Houston - with all of its shopping and nightlife amenities.

"Close to all the amenities, plenty of different living arrangements"

Bering has everything from cheaper apartments to luxury townhomes, and mid-range condos in between. There are beautiful trees and good sidewalks, and parks nearby including on Woodway and Bering and Memorial park. You are really close to many of Houston's job centers here including the Galleria at about 1 mile away, and some of the nightlife centers including the Richmond strip, again about 1 mile away. The Y is less than 1 mile away as well, and the Westpark recycling center is conveniently accessible.
