"A Relaxing Part of New York"
This Upper West Side Neighborhood is one of the quieter ones. Many of the Upper West Side streets are quiet and are well taken care of. You can walk to the Loews theater or even Central Park when you feel the urge. If you work downtown, you can easily take the 66th Street Lincoln Ctr line. The Telepan restaurant is a definite go to in this neighborhood - with a flair of Italian cuisine. Also Sheep Meadow Cafe serves a delicious variety of American food, located by Central Park West.

"Great place for families"
If you want to send your kiddies to York Preparatory School, you’ll find it here. You will also find a Kung Fu studio (Wu Mei Kung Fu), where you can also send your kids if you feel so inclined. There are also restaurants: get some pizza from West 68, or stop into La-Boite-En-Bois (but only if you have nothing better to do).

West 68 St
"Great residential street but tons of city shops and restaurants around"
My boyfriend lives on W 68th between Columbus and Central Park West, so I spend a lot of time there and in the area. Between Columbus and CPW, the street is very residential, with buildings that are at most 10 stories high. There is a private school on the street, as well as a few upscale restaurants. As you move west, you'll find a Loews on the corner of Broadway, which is really convenient if you're a movie lover. Broadway, Columbus, and Amsterdam all have tons of restaurants and shops, so the street is great for those who want to feel like they're in a quiet residential neighborhood but still have all the amenities of the big city.
