West Paces Ferry Rd Northwest
"Features the Classiest Mansions in Buckhead and Multi-Million-Dollar Homes"
This main Buckhead attraction is simply stunning. I traveled West Paces Ferry every day for five years and never got tired of seeing how the other half lives. Multi-Million-Dollar homes, each one unique in design and personality, line the road. The Governor's Mansion boasts a meticulously manicured lawn. West Paces Ferry features Paces Academy, one of Atlanta's finest schools. The location is close to the best food and best shopping in Atlanta. Close enough, but far enough away from the city, it is one place I would live if I won the Lotto. Aside from that stroke of luck, I'll have to settle for driving through on my way to Phipps Plaza for great shopping.

"Not just for "Certain Lifestyles""
This street is what Atlanta is mostly about. You can get some great homestyle food at relatively low cost considering how great the food is and the work that goes into preparing it. There are also some nice dining restaurants that may set you back a few dollars.
The street is not the fanciest, but the great thing is that it isn't littered with bars and clubs, therefore you don't have all of the young people speeding down the road and you don't have to worry about your kids "like um like" seeing some girl walking down the street without proper clothing like in some more 'hip' districts.

"Not bad for certain lifestyles"
No bars or clubs nearby. A few restaurants, but most are very pricey or fast food. Except for O.K. Cafe, it's an Atlanta landmark and has decent homestyle southern food for average prices.
The highway is right outside my window, but most of the people who live on this street live in the expensive mansions up the street from the highway.
There is a MARTA bus stop within walking distance that serves two train stations. This is good because I don't have a car. Without a car, there is no place to go for a drink, a movie, shopping, or anything else resembling entertainment. However there is a bank and a grocery stre within walking distance. If you have a car, the proximity to the highway is a huge plus. You are always within 30 minutes of anywhere in Atlanta-Metro.
The upside is that there is a flower seller who always stands on the corner of W. Paces and Northside selling bouquets and directing traffic. It's a little bit of local flavor that you would normally have to go into Midtown or Downtown to find. Also, the neighborhood is very upscale (like I said, mansions) with nice houses and plenty of trees and manicured lawns and hedges. Once you get away from the highway, it is easy to forget you are in the middle of Atlanta.
My rent is resonable, but I shudder to think what kinds of mortgages most of these people have. they must be in debt up to the neck.
There have never been any serious crime or safety issues, just a few car break-ins at the apartment parking garage.
There is excellent cell coverage including all kinds of extended network and high-speed data access. We also get cable or DSL internet. I don't watch TV so I don't know how available it is, but I can only guess you can get whatever TV you like.
