"The heart of Old Seattle"
Yesler Way stretches from Puget Sound through downtown Seattle and becomes East Yesler Way on the east side of Broadway, then continues to Leschi Park at Lake Washington. Starting at the Sound, you'll find the absolute best restaurant in the city. Al Boccalino's is a hidden gem, providing exquisite Italian food by authentic and wonderful staff. Local clubs and bars dot the street through Pioneer Square and a few boutique shops are provided. The architecture of the buildings along this street is intricate and beautiful and the trees planted by the city break up the monotony of the concrete. Several businesses take up residence along Yesler Way and a few apartment complexes. Like most condos and apartments in the city, the rents and cost of living is high, but you're desire to be in the thick of things is met here.

"Got to stay here!!"
We stayed at the Best Western... You can't get any more beautiful. The hotel was originally built in the early 1900's, but they fixed it up recently. It's A SHORT WALK TO SEATTLE S HISTORIC DISTRICT, MUSEUMS, GALLERIES AND INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT

"No underground railraod, just a city!"
While the tour technically begins on 1st street, you are immediately whisked away to Yesler Way. While this street is in the center of the old city there is much more to it than just the old buildings and history. Here your trouguide will take you into seemingly normal buildings. Once he opens a certain door, down you go. The underground tour winds through several Seattle old town street, or under them I should say. Seattle was orginally about 30ft lower than it is today and their is an entire city preserved underneath. As you walk above ground on the old town streets like Yesler, you will see purple glass in the sidewalks. The purple glass was once clear and allows light into the lower streets after they were raised about one hundered years ago. Yesler is just one of the neat streets in old Seattle.
