"Safe and Mundane"
Let's be honest: if you know the Sunset district, you know 26th Avenue. It is nice and residential, but not necessarily a place that you would send tourists to. The weather is foggy, the people are kind and modest, the houses are reasonably sized but modest, and the neighborhood is somewhat residential while still maintaining the integrity of a city.
A few of the intersections - Taraval and 26th, for one - have some great food, but overall, this street is fairly quiet and residential. Traffic is never too bad although stop signs will slow anyone down, parking is abundant (relatively speaking), and the area is pretty safe and quiet at night. No superlatives here, but plenty of peace of mind for residents and locals.

26th Ave
"Nice street in Sunset"
26th Ave. runs through Sunset and Richmond. It is a residential street mostly. It is not a very busy street and pretty quiet usually. It is very safe throughout the street. It runs by many businesses and stores. It also runs by a couple schools like Lowell, Lincoln, and Washington. It passes by the Sunset reservoir. There is access to a couple muni lines like the N, L, and 48. It also runs by Stern Grove. Stern Grove occasionally has public performances and events. This street would be a great place to live.

26th Ave
"Mostly like 25th avenue but with less traffic."
26th avenue runs from Eucalyptus Drive of the Lakeshore district all the way to the Sea Cliff district close to the entrance of the Presidio. There are a few detours on this street, on is the reservoir on Ortega to Quintara, and the other is bigger, Golden Gate Park. If you need to cross the park, only 25th avenue is the closest street that has an entrance to drive through the park however after you enter it gets confusing to get to the other side. If you do weave around the streets and find your way, you will end up back on 25th avenue which you can then drive back onto 26th. 26th avenue is a cool street because it runs close to the 3 major high schools in San Francisco, starting at Lowell High school in the Lakeshore district, running past Lincoln High school of the Sunset District and running close by to George Washington High school of the Richmond. This street has a variety of houses because it runs through such different neighborhoods. Most of the houses will be similar to Sunset houses, but there are apartments and condos scattered here and there. In the Sea Cliff District you will find much larger houses and higher prices to go along with them.
