Kappock St
"Industrial but Useful"
Kappock Ave is first and foremost a residential street in the Bronx. It has a small shopping area, with a lot of threes, but the shops here close early in the evening as most of their clientele goes home. It does have a Rite Aid that stays open a bit later, but not significantly so. It is more or less a safe street, and family oriented. There is a small park with swings that is attractive in the summer months. It is pretty close to the 231st subway stop, but the best bet is to take the Bx10 or Bx20 to the subway. One can also take the BxM 1 or 2 into Manhattan. It is close to the shopping area on 235th street. It is a decent location to live if you don’t want to be right in the city.

"Industrial feel--lots of construction. Scary feeling at night"
Kappock Ave. is in the Riverdale neighborhood of the Bronx.
I lived nearby for 2 years and often walked down Kappock Ave.
It is residential with a small shopping area, with many trees. Graffiti is a problem from local teenagers--and being in Riverdale, car theft occurs from time to time. But overall it is safe and extremely family oriented.
Kappock Ave. is close to 235th Street and Riverdale Ave. which contain grocery stores, banks, cleaners\tailors\shoe repairmen, hardware stores, etc. Also, it is within walking distance to the NYC subway (1 train) and Metro North which goes directly to grand central. It is the ideal location for someone who wants to live in the city\have all of the city amenities but feel like you are living in a suburb with trees!
Currently there is lots of construction near the Henry Hudson Parkway--very messy, contractors everywhere, etc.
