Hi, we live in South Salem Hamlet of Lewisboro and commute to Manhattan by train occasionally. There is a Shuttle bus from Spring St. in South Salem that travels Rte. 35 to the Katonah Train station, which gets you to Grand Central in 50 mins during most times, it runs every hour. It is the Harlem Line and very consistent. There are also pay by day parking spaces at The Katonah Train station for a day trip and you can purchase the Metro North tickets at machine at the station. That parking is free on weekends. We find this is a really nice asset to living here, and we can walk or bike from our home to the South Salem shuttle parking lot.

Bobby,
The commute to NYC from Lewisboro is approximately one hour and ten minutes. Your trip from your new home to the station will have to be added to the commute time. Lewisboro residents use the Golden's Bridge Station.
There is commute parking available. Presently there is a waiting time for permits. The cost of a 12 month permit is 426.28 inclusive of tax. There are daily parking meters the costs are 3.75 for 16 hours and 6.25 for 24 hours.
You will need to place your name on the waiting list if wish to purchase an annual permit.
Lewisboro has much to offer it's residents but only you can decide if the commute is doable for you.
I hope that this information is helpful. And if there is anything else you wish to know please contact me.
Thanks,

Lewisboro covers a large area stretching all the way from just north of Katonah & Goldens Bridge (closest to the Metro North train, Rte 684 & the Saw Mill Parkway) all the way east toward Ridgefield CT & further south toward New Canaan. If you live in the areas of Lewisboro that include Goldens Bridge, Cross River, Waccabuc or the more western areas of South Salem, your commute to Metro North in Goldens Bridge or Katonah can range from about 5 to 15+/- minutes. If you choose to live further east in Lewisboro (eastern South Salem or Vista) you'll have a longer trip to Metro North, but you'll definitely find more house for less $, ideal if your daily commute is within Westchester or parts of CT. If the distance to the train is a primary concern, then you'll want to live in the more western parts of Lewisboro closest to Metro North. I hope this information is helpful ! Hello - I live in Lewisboro and used to commute to the City. The train ride from the Goldens Bridge train station is around an hour at peak times - doable for me :-). Obviously, you’ll have to get to the train station and, as Lewisboro spans a fairly wide area, you will probably want to look at properties that are located fairly close to the train line. For instance, I would suggest that you take a look at homes located in Goldens Bridge, Katonah and Cross River for starters. Hope that his helps!
