"Hidden gem of natural habitats"
I discovered the Fullerton Arboretum while attending school at California State University Fullerton. As part of the campus itself the arboretum lends itself as a learning facility, a recreational area with some historical value and just a wonderful place to visit when you want a small escape from the concrete jungle of the city. One of the most interesting features of the arboretum is the fact that it sustains a variety of ecosystems in one single area. In one day of walking through here you can visit the climates and see the vegetations of Redwood forests, tropical scenery, and dusty desert terrain and chaparral forests. It is very fascinating how they maintain such different environments so close together let alone in the midst of a busy city like Fullerton. The arboretum houses a nursery where visitors can buy plants of their own, the Orange County Agricultural and Nikkei Heritage Museum, and the Victorian style Heritage House. All year round you can even attend special events or host your own special occasion at this beautiful botanical garden. One of the major draws for the arboretum seems to be the wedding season, in which brides and grooms to be can check out the arboretums special wedding packages. I’ve attended some of the festivities held here and a few of their garden workshops and they have always been fun.
