Originally founded by polish immigrants Bucktown was established to give the new immigrants a safe and clean place to live. Located approx. 3.5 mile NW of the loop Bucktown has morphed into the new hip happening place to be. Bucktown is located in the triangle formed by N. Western Ave, W. North Ave. and the Kennedy Expressway. Bucktown is defined by it's nightlife. Resturants abound in all price ranges and of all ethnic varieties. In addition, Bucktown has a plethora of trendy shops, art galleries, etc. What really brings em to Bucktown is the bars. From Happy Hour to dawn patrons can party the night away in any number of drinking establishments. In addition to the nightlife, Bucktown is home to some of the most exclusive real estate in Chicago. Single family homes, Condos and Upscale Apartments are all available in Bucktown. However bring you wallets hipness costs big time. Also the nature of Bucktown means it isn't quiet or really family friendly.
