Pelandale Ave
"Lots of shopping, turns into a nice residential area"
Pelandale Avenue is a long, wide though fare that runs through the city. It is pretty soulless, with not much to distinguish it. It has some strip malls with stores like Pier One and Trader Joe’s. However, it does have Tahoe Joe’s Famous Steakhouse. We had dinner there one night, and although it is nothing fancy (sort of kitschy) it’s pretty good. The menu is varied, and the prices are very reasonable. Pelandale runs into a fairly nice residential area.

Pelandale Ave
"Great for Shopping"
Pelandale is a major exit on the 99 freeway and the first few miles have great restaurants and shops. One of the first major shopping centers off this road has a Costco and a Cost Plus, and I've actually gone on a date in that area to the Color Me Mine pottery studio - followed by dinner at Baja Fresh.

Pelandale Ave
"Fast Growing Area"
Modesto’s fastest growing business hub runs the razor edge of Salida’s borders. Headlined directly off the 99 for the last five years by an enormous Costco and Loews, this street is often packed but actually has the infrastructure to handle it, a rarity in a town which has grown so quickly. Just past the glut of its frontage shopping centers, Pelandale is largely rural and becomes the tiny fivish block Claratina at McHenry.
