"No shortage on things to do and see"
Pike Street runs from the west to east side of downtown, directly through the shopping district. With some incredible restaurants, convention centers, hotels and theatres, there is never a shortage of things to do and see on Pike Street. The shops are easily some of the best in Seattle, with Pike Place Market at the west side and the majority of downtown stores four blocks east of the market. Traffic is a bear most of the time since it's such a leisure and tourist section of the city. There are several parking garages and outdoor lots to put your car, though public transportation is abundant on this street. There are a few apartment and condo complexes in the area, but the rents and prices are very expensive. If downtown living is for you, this area of the city is terrific and convenient.

"Pike Street is the center of the Seattle experience."
Pike Street is the place for eating, shopping, walking, sightseeing, and taking pictures. You can spend sometime relaxing in the park while taking in the breathtaking scenery. When you get hungry there are there are many restaurants to choose from. Pikes Market is populated by tourists, but never overrun. The people who work here have what seems like endless enthusiasm and joy for their particular trade, be it seafood, produce or tiny handmade wallets. There are great deals to be found all over the place, and without many grocery stores nearby, one of the only sources for cheap and fresh food in downtown Seattle.

"Tourists flock to this location!"
Let's face it, if you live in Seattle this is the street you avoid at all cost. At least that is how it is for me. The only time I travel to Pike Street is when family is in town and beg to see it. Pike Street has it all in terms of tourist desires but it's very crowded and parking can be somewhat of a headache. Fresh fish, produce and flowers abound as well as those little shops jammed with Pike Place memorabilia. My family always wants to visit the Pike Place Fish Market in Pike Place and against my will, I always take them there. Normally I would never travel to this area because there are so many other places for locals in the city and downtown, but I must admit, once I am in the area I have fun too.

"Pike Street - Tourist and Local Haven"
You're looking for the famous Pike Street Market? As logic would dictate, travel down Pike Street until you can go no farther and there it is! Parking is always a challenge here but once you're parked, you can rub elbows with tourists and locals alike. There is incredible dining, bars, and little off-the-beaten-path kinds of places here even though it's a very well-worn path. There are great bargains to be had at the market from fresh fish, fruits and veggies to hats, scarves, clothing, jewelry and more! At the very end of Pike Street below the neon glow of the sign on the street below stands a large brass pig. I always thought it was amusing considering he's outside the most famous fish market in the world! Other than the Market, Pike Street is home to many local businesses and apartment complexes alike, which is part of the contribution to the deficit of available parking.

Pike St
"Fun for All Ages"
Pike Street is where you'll find most of your tourists, and a bunch of locals, too. It is home to Pike Place Market, an excellent place to grab fresh fish and beautiful bouquets of flowers. Street performers line the sidewalks and vendors share their unique goods with passersby. It's a wonderful and busy street where you can get fresh produce, t-shirts, gifts, great coffee, and more. Pike Street is also where the very first Starbuck's store still operates - a fun place to stop for a photo.
