"Windy Place for a Weekend Bike Ride"
There is a lovely shared bicycle/walking path right near the water and, while car traffic is heavy, pedestrians abound so cars are really cognizant of folks on bicycles. The first time I went on a long bike ride with the Bike Alameda Bike Coalition, we started our ten mile trek on this road. The skies were clear and the wind was light.
Having had that lovely experience, I opted to take Shoreline home from the grocery store one evening. It was ridiculously windy! The headwind going toward Grand was ridiculous. All further attempts to ride on Shoreline were met with a lot of coastal wind. It's beautiful, but makes the ride much less relaxing.
I think I'd enjoy the road a bit more from the passenger seat of a car. The views are just amazing. On a clear day you really can see forever from here.

"Peaceful and quiet, but tired and worn"
This street is another of those lining Shoreline that consists of some of the duller tract homes on the island. The landscaping is lacking and the homes are tired and worn. It seems safe and quiet though and I would consider living here just for proximity to the beach and Crown Point State Park. Its very flat and probably more affordable without having to go to the industrial side of the island.

"Tired and Worn Feel Betrays Name"
I drove down this street looking at homes thinking that anything named Sunset Road right next to the beach, had to have some redeeming qualities. However, other than being quiet and right next to the Bay, the homes are tired and worn and there is a real absence of landscaping. I think it is a safe street, which is important, but we didn't opt to live here.

"Best thing about this street is proximity to the water"
The homes on this street are pretty architecturally unexciting and the neighborhood feels a little bare and flat. There are not a lot of trees, something I consider important. However, it is quiet, feels quite safe and is within a stones throw of the Bay and Crown Point State Beach Park. I often park on this street when we go to the Alameda beach and have often thought that with a little mature landscaping it would be a great place to live.

"Lively place with beautiful scenery"
Shoreline Drive may be one of my best visited streets i ever been throughout Alameda, California.
As the street near the Seashore and beautiful sandy beaches. Less traffic with more energy, very greenery and lots of parks for the childrens. Best for anyone to live here and enjoy the living.

"A long drive on a beautiful beach"
Shoreline Drive in Alameda, CA is a doozy of a street stretching from Broadway on the East and going towards Westline Drive on the West. Situated in the Carlsbad State Beach area of Alameda, Shoreline Drive contains some of the best scenery you will find amidst Alameda, CA.
The area has mostly residential homes such as houses and condos with varying stories and heights, there are a few small and commercial businesses here and there, however. It is perfectly located right across from the beach and waterfront, making for some excellent eye candy as you go for a ride (remember, stay focused on the road though).

"Best scenic road in all of Alameda"
Shoreline Drive is probably the best scenic road in all of Alameda. The road is covered with waterfront views and sandy beaches. It is hard enough to focus on driving without being interrupted by the constant scenery. The sunny days are the best because the sun is reflecting it's ways off the water which gives the whole a sense of heightened romance. Shoreline Drive is also a haven for many tourists, hotels, cyclists, joggers and a great area for summer activities. If you want to get enjoy a fun night out and catch water night views then you need to visit the Tapioca Bar. If your a girl then even better, because you can enjoy drink specials until midnight!
