South 2nd St
"More of an Alleyway, But good BBQ"
2nd Street is more of an alleyway, really. But, it is the location for the famous Rendevouz resturant - the Best BBQ in Memphis. You'll have to walk past several dumpsters to get to the door and the resturant doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is incredible and the resturant is a fun place to visit, don't shrug it off based on appearances.
There are other shops and resturants along the road, but none that I ever visited. The only real reason to go down the road is to get the BBQ - then you should head to Beale street for the atmosphere.

"Unless you love ribs, don't bother"
South 2nd Street – There is nothing special about this street, except for Rendezvous. I was skeptical when our tour guide recommended it, but someone else in my group said they heard it was good, too. So, we tried it. Best. Ribs. Ever. Really. If you don’t like sopping wet ribs, try these dry ribs. They are SO good. This place was down an alley complete with dumpsters. Once you get in, it's kind of charming, though. Skip 2nd Street unless you like ribs – a lot! The street has a lot of shops and restaurants. I just got the feeling it was a poor man's Beale Street.
