"There once was a trolley."

Now the whole area is waiting for a renovation. The New York Aquarium is on Surf Ave as well as Nathans Famous hot dogs.
Astroland Amusement Park which some still refer to as Coney Island is located here.
There is also the Coney Island Museum which is rather small but interesting as you get to see what Coney Island once was.

"Expected more character from this street."

This is a rather dull street with not much character or personality, that is if a street can have character or personality. I had the feeling it was just put there to get to the other streets.
There is not many people out in the street even with apartment buildings all over, the people seem to be all inside.

"The way to the Beach."

Changes are if you are going to Brighton Beach you will find yourself on Brighton Beach Ave.
The street is home to an overhead El train which is one of the major transportation for getting around the area.
One must fight for parking and give up the idea of getting a parking place if someone else saw it at the same time. Most likely they have diplomatic immunity and putting up any sort of challenge can be detrimental to your health.

""A Tree Grew in Brooklyn""

At one time this area was home to the oldest tree in Brooklyn until they paved paradise and put up a parking lot and five or six other buildings in it's place.
Other than those sad memories the place is great to raise a family. People are friendly and yards are avaiable.,
Most homes have garages which is a plus in any Brooklyn neighbor.

"Close to the bay and the Belt Pkwy."

Here you have a residential family oriented neighborhood which does take a bit of travel to get to stores and public transportation.
However, you are close to the Bay and Beaches which in the summer (if one has time to go) does count for something.
Most homes do have a backyard much makes it children and pet friendly.

"Education adventure for the kids."

This is home to the United Nations and a great day trip for the kids or schools. Children can experience how languages are translated and also develop an interest in flags of various countries.
It is a good start for young child to begin a flag collection with stamps or cards.
There is something for everyone here and is definitely worth the travel to get to.

"Better days ahead."

This area is named after the Coney Island Amusement Park now known as Astroland and home of the famous Cyclone roller coaster.
The entire area has seen better days but is do for a turn around as the amusement park was sold in 2006 and plans are in the works for a $1.5 billion year round resort.
The Cyclone is expected to continue it's operation with the other rides being moved to different parts of the neighborhood.

"Quite little street."

Just off Richmond Rd. you will find Locust Ave. a quite little street close to all shopping, schools and transportation.
The corner of Locust Ave. and Richmond Rd. has a dangerous turn she is a frequent spot for traffic accidents especially when cars drive above the speed limit on Richmond Rd.
The location is close to the train station and the bus which goes into New York City.

"Home of Times Square"

42nd st. The name of a musical and now home to Theatre Row is always a colorful street to visit.
There is always something to see on 42nd St. especially if one is a people watcher you will need get tired of finding something interesting here.
And don't forget the giant ball which drops every New Years.

"1 Water St."

Who ever thought listen to traffic going over the Brooklyn Bridge would be enjoyable but it is one of the features you find yourself remembering when visiting and dinning on Water St. at the River Cafe.
Seat outside with a drink while looking at the New York skyline.
There are many places to eat while on Water St. however, I can't bring myself to go to any other place.

"Great area for couples starting out."

The street is loaded with Garden Apartments ideal for young couples just starting out.
It is rather off the beaten path in Staten Island with parking available in front of the apartment.
Shopping is at a distance and public transportation is not one of the conveniences readily available.
Driving on Staten Island is worst than in New York City and can take longer to get around than if you live in the city itself.

"A main thorough fare."

Whenever you are in the Wall St. area of downtown Manhattan at one point or another in you day you will find yourself on Exchange Place. Whether it is to catch the subway or the Path trains or to go to a lunch this is one of the main thorough fares you will travel on while in the area.
On most days you will find vendors out in the street selling their wares along with the "dirty water" dog frankfurter stands.

"Convenient location to shopping and schools."

This is a nice quiet neighborhood which is convenient to shopping and restaurants. Most homes are attached with parking to the side on in front of the house.
Homes are will kept and the area is quiet with light traffic.
A variety of private and public schools is accessible as well as doctors offices.

"Project everywhere and no one to be seen."

This is one place you do not want to get lost in or let alone visit or worst yet be unfortunate to live.
There are hundreds of people living in these projects which are all around you yet no one ventures out doing the day unless they have to. I was told that the police do not even respond to emergency calls as they fear of getting out of there alive. Nor do the crimes that take place there make the news as reporters would rather visit Iraq than those projects.

"The end of nowhere."

For some reason when you get here you feel as if you have reached the end of the world.
The neighborhood is quite and clean and you can walk to nearby restaurants.
You will need a car to get around as public transportation is scares and supermarkets aren't that close.
There are a number of doctor offices in the immediate vicinity which makes it ideal for retired people.

"69th Street & 17th Ave. Best Bakery in Brooklyn"

For the life of me I can't think of the name of this Italian bakery right now but it is on the corner of 69th St. and 17th Ave.
Everything is made on the premises with fresh real whip cream.
If you are visiting in the area everyone will know which bakery I am speaking of. It is by far the best bakery I have come across.
I only wish they had mail service.
Good luck finding parking!

"Visit the Bay."

It is always fun to take a walk around Sheepshead Bay as driving in the area is an experience in itself let along parking. However, it is all worth the effort as the tranquility of the Bay makes one forget what hassled were overcome to get there.
There is an abundance of restaurants with fresh fish and rather bland food complete with car fumes if you sit outside.

"The kids will love the old ships."

South St. in lower Manhattan which is home to the South Street Seaport is always a fun spot to bring the kids especially for a day of maritime and police museums and shopping an dinning.
The seaport dates back to the 1600's.
Take the kids to visit the old ships and they will feel as if they stepped back in time and are on Pirate ships.

"The heart of the Financial District."

There is an underlying energy one experiences whether you are working or visiting Wall St. Almost as if you belong there and always have and will belong there.
It is no wonder why this street was picked to be home to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the American Stock Exchange (AMEX), New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD), and the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT).
The surrounding area has come to be known as Wall St.

"Does anyone really live here?"

Who would think so much goes on behind the scenes of these converted factories. Many have been turned into lofts with private elevators.
There are many trendy restaurants to chose from all with-in walking distance and private clubs for nightlife with invite only access.
Day time brings a quiet atmosphere as most residence travel to their place of employment and traffic is rather light for New York City which makes one wonder if anyone really lives here at all or was the night just a figment of your imagination?
