West 238th St
"Typical of the area with some great perks"
I will schlep up and over from Queens to get to W. 238th St. No joke. At first glance, it seems something special- just your typical Bronx street, with its assortment of bodegas and corner stores. But look again-- and then again. Concealed in its depths- a little hole in the wall- is perhaps the best cheesecake New York- or anywhere- has to offer: S&S Cheesecake.
In a way, that's typical of the area in general. It looks like just another street, but there's a real community feel here- infrequently visited by tourists, you get the sense this is a place the locals know and love, but don't broadcast. Definitely worth a trip.

Fort Independence Park is a nice start to this street. Though it wasn’t really a sight for sore eyes, this street was calm and nicely populated, and I really felt that I could make a home here, though there isn’t much in the way of food and exciting things to do. You’ll have to go to the next street for that.

Macsizzle, you've been dissing on Kingsbridge in all of the posts I've seen of yours with the same line about having "to go the next street for that." Maybe you're just a bot or really someone who just should got to the next street for whatever it is you're looking for, but 238th has a got a lot to offer, most notably the Bronx Ale House.
