"24th btwn Potrero/Guerrero"
This is the stretch of 24th forms a major artery of the Mission. It's *awesome*: seemingly countless taquerías and pupuserías and panaderías (hey, all the -ías you could ever wish for, really) to fill you up with ridiculously yummy goodness, amazing public art (the murals of balmy alley) and arts organizations (galeria de la raza, precita eyes, mission cultural center, the brava theater), quirky hipster hangouts (sugarlump coffeehouse, st. francis fountain, dynamo donuts), retail galore. i used to walk down here on a saturday late morning/early afternoon and just spend a couple of hours strolling this particular stretch, loving the vibrant cultural life that SF has to offer.

"24th in the mission district.."
24th street in the mission district is very walkable.. there are tons of great taquerias you can enjoy for lunch or a drunk night out. a few years back, this area was amazing, now, unfortunately.. some 'gangbangers' have taken over some corners of this area.. you don't like the color blue? well, i don't see you shooting at the sky.

"a great street if you want to feel at home in the heart of the city"
24th Street between Dolores and Castro:
If you are coming from the south take 280 N and take the San Jose Ave exit. Continue left onto Dolores St and turn left on 25th, right onto Vicksburg St and Left again 24th St (there is no direct left from Dolores onto 24th). This street has a post office, a truly resourceful book shop - phoenix book shop, a good hair dresser, great Irish pubs and good food and cafes. The Bell market there used to be nice, but alas has shut down recently. All in all a great place to hang out in the morning, afternoon or late evening.

"You can get anything you want...."
24th Street, from one end to the other, is a microcosm of so much that San Francisco has to offer. From Twin Peaks to Potrero, you can find anything from adult novelties in the Castro to handmade tortillas at La Palma "Mexicatessan." Moms with strollers crowd the sidewalk outside Starbucks at 24th and Noe, while moms crowd into El Pollo Supremo at 24th and Folsom. I love 24th Street!

"Awesome Place to "Chill""
The part of 24th Street I'm going to write about isn't the colorful Mission District, but the laid back, family-oriented Noe Valley District. Here, 24th Street becomes a place where there is truly something for everyone. Whether it's a loud Irish bar, a classic pizza parlor, a calming yarn and craft store, a variety store full of dirty cards and funny, gag gifts, a children's boutique, an import store with all sorts of incense and silver jewelry, a used-music store, or whatever! There are places to eat, bars, stores, salons, banks, and even a small Farmer's Market on weekends. This is definitely one of my favorite areas of San Francisco.
