Arguello Blvd
"A Nice Place to Live"
I like it at Arguello Blvd. It's near many many shops and crosses over Geary Blvd. The houses here are very big and are also very nice to live in too, but it can be really expansive. It's a nice and quiet neighborhood with lots of flower, grass and trees. However, best of all its home to Ross Playground, with the community pool, tennis and basketball courts, baseball and soccer field, and a very nice and big play structure for kids. It's a shame they don't allow dogs in though.

"will always be the place I call home in the bay area"
I spent a little under two years living at Arguello Blvd as a tentant of a house owner there while I went to school at USF which is just up the hill from Arguello (the default 1st avenue).
Arguello is the beginning of the Richmond district where at one end of the street is Golden Gate park and at the other end is the presidio, two of SF's green landmarks. Inbetween are several other landmarks like the St.Johns church, the Indian consulate, Ross Field ( a public playground with a pool, basketball courts and baseball field), Arguello Supermarket (overpriced local grocery store) and Velo Rouge, a chic cafe. I lived closer to the Golden gate park and the conservatory of flowers was just a minute away. Many times I took the 33 MUNI towards the presidio for a walk in the area, the presidio golf course is also at the end of Arguello with a impressive driving range and an even better course.

Arguello Blvd
"Arguello Boulevard, Which is Technically First Avenue"
In the Sunset/Richmond areas, the avenues are numbered sequentially, i.e., 2nd Avenue, 3rd Avenue ... all except for Arguello, which is technically First Avenue. I don't know why the City chose to name this street, rather than number it (it has a tendency to confuse cabbies, for starters). Arguello is probably named after Santiago Arguello (1791-1862), who was a military man who helped to settle and establish California (albeit on behalf of Mexico), and later became a wealthy landowner with 22 kids! It's a cute little boulevard -- mostly residential, although there are a pizza place and a synagogue along the way, on the north side of Golden Gate Park. And there is Roosevelt Middle School as well. The very end of Arguello leads directly into the beautiful Presidio.

Arguello Blvd
"A fun and intersting place to visit"
Arguello Street in the Richmond District of San Francisco is another busy street during rush hours. On the street there is Roosevelt Middle School that is one of the top public middle schools in San Francisco. Along the sidewalk are as much trees as there are houses. The blocks of Arguello are longer than you average San Francisco street. Cars drive on this street all day and night and the # 33 bus line runs on it. With many corner stores and gas stations here, it’s like you stop and shop for all those busy people in a rush.

Arguello Blvd
"Great street that connects the two best parks in the city and has a bike lane."
Arguello Blvd. is not a bad transportations street. For a small street, there are surprisingly many things on it. There is a school located on Arguello called Roosevelt Middle School. There is also a good pool located on Arguello which only charges 50 cents for admission. Arguello intersects Geary Blvd. and there are many stores on Geary Blvd. On the corner of Arguello and Geary, there is an office max and a Wells Fargo Bank. What I like most about this street is that it is one of the few vertical streets along the Richmond district to house its own bike lane. This street connects the Presidio to golden gate park which makes it an essential street for housing a bike lane. Overall this street is a great street to travel on by bike or car and it connects two of the best parks in the entire city.
