"Quiet street for a main arterial"
Des Moines Memorial Drive is a very green street, with tall trees lining the road and providing shade in the summer and an umbrella in the winter, spring, fall and summer. The street has its own onramp access and exit off of Hwy 518, yet the traffic is modest and the neighborhoods are quiet. The homes on this road are barely noticeable, which offers solitude. Some of the businesses are run down and seedy-looking, but there are also some gems along the road, especially north of 128th St. South.
