"Less than Average"
Residents of Dodd Street find themselves in a very unfortunate position. Their neighborhood just happens to be adjacent to another neighborhood in Fairburn that is on the decline. That is a difficult for any neighborhood to be in, because despite your best efforts, some things just can't be overcome.
There are residents of Dodd Street who have lived in the community long before the most recent problems of drugs and increased crime due to adjacent neighborhoods. I am sure they harken back to the old days with fond memories of how things use to be.
There are some in the neighborhood who are doing their best to keep their properties up, yards maintained, and houses in good repair. But it is also very evident that some of the residents of Dodd Street have simply given up. Maybe they can't afford to leave the area and that's why they stay. However, given the choice, I am sure many would find other more appealing places to live.
