"A Neighborhood With It's Own Nickname"
There are not too many neighborhoods I am aware of that have their own nickname. I guess it may not be that uncommon. However, I would think a nickname, even for a neighborhood would be a term of endearment. Well in the case of Golightly Street, aka Lightning, the nickname is certainly not a good thing.
Lightning is known, unfortunately, for high drug traffic and a higher than average crime rate. The majority of the homes in the neighborhood are subsidized. That in and of itself is not necessarily a problem, however, in the Golightly neighborhood, section 8 equals increased noise level, high transitory residential traffic, people outside the community itself cruising the neighborhood for drugs, and poorly maintained conditions.
Interestingly enough, quite a bit of the area around Golightly is not quite as derelict. This is not a community to choose to move to. A lot of the folks who live there, for one reason or another, seem to have just ended up there.
