"Take a ride far, far East on Chapman for some fishing"
If you’re interested in finding a location in Orange County where you can go fishing look no further than the Santiago Reservoir which is also knows as the Irvine Lake. It makes for a wonderful place to spend the day with friends, drinking and listening to music or with your family or kids teaching them how to use bait and throw their fishing lines. There are all sorts of people at the lake during the spring and summer months and everyone’s generally in friendly spirits and early birds since the lake begins to fill up early in the A.M. to scout the best fishing spots. If renting a pontoon or small boat isn’t really your taste theirs also the option to set post along the side banks of the lake. As a first time fisher-woman myself I preferred lounging on a chair near the banks. The catches won’t be too large compared to what you could snag while on the boats but it’s all in good fun. If you’re planning a trip to the lake you’re allowed to bring your own cooler full of goodies and drinks or stop by the onsite diner and mini-mart for any small cravings you might have encounter along throughout the day.
