F D R Dr, Kips Bay

There's not a whole lot to say about FDR in really any neighborhood and in Kips Bay I feel like there's even less. FDR is more of a highway than a street. So, you can't live on it and even if you could, why would you want to. There's no ambience to it, like any highway, it's noisy and full of traffic and it's a dangerous place for small children to be near. And, the feel is even less aesthetic in this particular neighborhood because the majority of the neighboring 1st Avenue is taken up by hospitals: there's nothing to look at.
And, also, being a highway of sorts, there aren't people hanging around, no restaurants, etc. It's basically just a street you use to get from downtown to uptown quickly.
