"Suburbia in the city"
Larkin is very cute, but kind of off the beaten path. You only go down it when you are coming from a nearby neighborhood and are looking for parking or if you live there. It's parallel with Polk Street so it sees a lot of cars looking for parking in that regard. But it's all residential in Russian Hill/Cow Hollow area. There isn't any retail therapy on Larkin, but there is on nearby Polk Street. Larkin is very quiet and a good place to raise a family. There are a lot of T.I.C.'s there (Tennants In Common) and condos.
A playground on the corner of Broadway and Larkin that is fenced in to make it safe for kids.

"San Franciso Public Library"
You'll find the huge San Francisco Public Library at 100 Larkin Street, and it is a place you should not miss if you live downtown. There are six floors packed with books, DVDs, magazine and activities for adults and kids. You'll find books for kids and for patent engineers, dinosaurs to nanotechnology, all inside its walls. We love the storytelling activities they have for kids on the weekends!

"Great place for families, close to everything!"
I Have been to Larkin Street which is close to so much like parks for families, markets not far and attractions for those who want to go there and visit..I find the people there so much fun and down to earth as well. The vibe of the area i felt was awesome and people were relaxed and not so stressed.
Raising a family i would recommend as it is a good place and safe as i remember.I enjoyed my visit when i went to San Francisco i loved it there..

"One Block Two of San Franciscos Best Attractions"
On a very short stretch of Fulton Street Between Larkin and Hyde. You'll find 2 of San Francisco's best attraction. The Asian Art Museum and the San Francisco Public Library. Recently renovated the Asian Art Museum is home to over 13,000 unique pieces spanning 6,000 years of civilization. Not only is the collection impressive the overall layout of the museum makes it a MUST SEE. The Public Library opened in the current location in 1996. It has over two million volumes and several focused collections. These landmarks themselves are great but they provide a great backdrop for people watching if thats something you enjoy.
