Rainier Ave
"The Good and the Bad"
Rainier Avenue South is the epitome of all streets that are both good and bad. Rainier Ave has been the area of recent gang activity and in the past sustained damage from mudslides. The street has certainly made a name for itself. Sometimes I cut through this road to get to Lake Washington Blvd. I also know the area because my parents attend Rainier Avenue Church and are involved with the church picnic that is held every year at Rainier play field. The street itself is split between residential houses, apartment buildings and businesses. During the weekdays traffic can be pretty heavy with commuters heading towards the Seattle Freeway.

Rainier Ave
"Fun to visit, but I wouldn't live here."
There are a lot of great little shops on this street, including Borrachini's Bakery and the Oh Boy! Oberto outlet. I like to walk around here and eat some cake or beef jerky, but it always looks sketchy. There are a lot of rundown buildings and mean looking people. This may be a good place to live if you work and play downtown, since it's very close, but it doesn't seem very peaceful.
